While the No.5® was revolutionary, the #58 is evolutionary. We took our legendary No.5® coupler and shrank the size of the head and knuckle to create a coupler that's even more prototypical. These industry leading couplers feature an all metal construction, standard centering springs, and come complete with insulated draft gearboxes and lids. This is the perfect upgrade for the weak and drooping couplers that come on most factory rolling stock and locomotives. #58 couplers are manufactured to the strictest tolerances to ensure reliable operation for decades. And they're still made right here in the USA with legendary Made In America quality.
The #58 is interchangeable with the No.5®, #28, #118, #119, #148, #158, and most manufacturer's Medium Centerset OEM knuckle couplers.
